About lead poisoning
Lead poisoning is most harmful to young children and even unborn babies. It can cause serious health problems. Lead is toxic to everyone but more commonly found in younger people because their bodies are absorbing and retaining nutrients therefore lead is absorbed just as much as other nutrients. In the United States 310, 000 1-5 year olds were found to have unsafe lead levels in their blood.
What products have been found with lead?
BATTERIES
CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS
PAINT, a lot of houses built be for 1978 have lead-based paint, it was banned in 1978, these paints can be found inside and outside of any kind of house

SOILS, around the house, soil absorbs fumes such as gas from cars, which some contain lead
HOUSEHOLD DUST, picks up lead from old paints or from soil
DRINKING WATER, some plumbing contains lead, like old pipes
JOB, if you work with lead you may bring it home and expose your family
OLD PAINTED TOYS AND FURNITURE
FOOD AND LIQUIDS
LEAD SMELTERS
HOBBIES, making pottery, or stain glass, or refinishing furniture

-decreased muscle and bone growth
-poor muscle coordination
-damage to the kidneys
-hearing and nervous system
-speech and language problems
-developmental delay
-seizures and unconsciousness

  2. no its more harmfull to young children because younger people aare absorbing nutrience so it there mother has a high amount of lead poisoning then the baby will be very likley to receve lead poising as well

  3. i think that some old schools at the present have been suffering from issues of water poisoning, because the water pipes were soldered with lead based solder, and so the students would suffer from severe stomach aches.

  5. if there mother has a high amount of lead in her system the baby will allso get a high level of lead and in there smaller body it is more harmfull to them

  13. befor the 1970's paints contained lead so if you live in an older house which has not been painted recently or even if it was painted the older paints may contain lead in it
